T'Keyah Cleveland

Company Member - 2nd year

T'keyah Cleveland is currently studying dance performance at Texas Woman's University (TWU). During her time at TWU, Cleveland has had the opportunity to study a variety of dance techniques and performances taught by Professor Rosemary Candelario, CJ Anderson, Kourtney Surgent, and more. Cleveland has had the pleasure of working under choreographers Sarah Tran, Cami Holman, Deardre Randolph, and many other artists for the TWU's 2020-2021 virtual dance concerts. She is also a member of the International Dance Company at TWU under the direction of Professor Elisa De La Rosa.

Before coming to TWU, Cleveland attended Mountain View College (MVC) where she was trained in ballet, jazz, and modern. She was also a part of the MVC Dance Company under the direction of John Merrifield and Alicia Orji. During her time at MVC, Cleveland spent most of her time in the dance studio for four to five days a week, working towards their end-of-semester show every semester.

Before entering college, Cleveland started her dance training at the age of fourteen seasonally at the Palace Dance Center, Dance Xpressions, and Dallas Black Dance Theatre. Cleveland also received an offer to attend the Julliard School of Music and Dance, however she unfortunately could not accept the opportunity due to an ankle injury that proceeded on for over a year.

Upon finishing her BA degree in Dance Studies in May 2023, Cleveland plans to audition for BODYTRAFFIC, a contemporary dance company based in Los Angeles.
