Media Assistant / Company Member - 2nd year
Crystal Yvette Martinez, a Latina first generation college graduate, is a Fort Worth native whose dance journey started with high school colorguard and independent winterguard throughout community college. Hungry for more knowledge of dance and wanting to expand her creativity, she attended Texas Woman’s University (TWU), graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Interdisciplinary minor in Graphic Design and Photography. TWU gave her the opportunity to learn different forms and techniques of dance, perform choreographic works by peers, and participate in productions, such as the American College Dance Association (ACDA), the Ignite Conference (a Women’s Political Leadership Conference), and Geografia LatinX Dance Festival. During her time at TWU, she was a member of the International Dance Company performing folklorico and hip-hop with choreographers Jose Zamora, Jenna Jang, and Sarah Tran.
Throughout her studies to present day, she is the lead colorguard movement instructor at Azle High School. She has recently accepted the position as Drill Team Director at Azle High School and is ecstatic to continue growing her journey in dance.
As an artist, educator, and woman, she wants to not only educate but also be a vessel of support and inspiration to those who are wanting to dive into their creative souls.
