Anna Gutierrez

Anna Gutierrez was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to Houston at the age of 6. She started dancing at her local studio at the age of 9 and studied various dance genres, such as ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip-hop, and musical theater while there. She was a member of both the Ridge Point High School Royals Dance Team, as well as the Manvel High School Majestics in her later years of high school where she was exposed to more genres, such as military, pom, and contemporary. While in school, she also expressed herself through music while in choir for six years. After graduating high school, she moved on to San Jacinto College, a 2-year institution, where she was introduced to modern and had various opportunities to perform for the San Jacinto Dance Company. After graduating with her Associates in Fine Arts, she moved on to Texas Woman’s University, where she is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education. She plans to use this degree to help her teach in a public school setting and eventually at the collegiate level.
