Krysta Ortiz is a dance artist from Odessa, Texas. Her dance journey began in a non-competitive dance studio, where she trained in genres, such as ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. Ortiz graduated from Odessa High School where she danced for the Odessa High Showgirls and served as leader of the team. While on the team she have had the opportunities to participate, perform, train, and compete at conventions and many other platforms in LA, California. Her passion and curiosity for dance movement and kinesthetics led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance with a minor in Kinesiology at the University of North Texas. There, she engaged in various performances, auditions, choreographic opportunities, as well as served as an ambassador for the UNT dance department. Her most recent choreographic work "Sweet Indulgence" was selected to be adjudicated in the 2023 American College Dance Association conference on behalf of the University of North Texas. Ortiz specializes in freestyle, hip hop, and contemporary styles, yet also seeking opportunities of growth in other aspect of dance. Krysta aims to share her in knowledge and experience in dance while remaining a lifelong learner from the artists surrounding her.
